Guatemala Youth Missions

A 2-Week Summer Service Project for Students

Fraser Lands Church has sent a student team to Guatemala for the last eight years. Each year the students return with a greater sense of God-given purpose to help and meet the needs of the poor, and the mistreated, as modeled by Jesus Christ himself. Our church will be sending a team once again from July 26 to August 10, 2019 (*dates subject to change).

The main purpose for this service project is to join in partnership with the organization Educando Para La Vida (Education For Life) and their work in the town of Zaragoza, 1.5 hours west of Guatemala City. Their work consists of building connections with local children and teenagers in Zaragoza, many who come from poor families who can’t afford education for their children. Through the school that Educando Para La Vida supports, children will receive good education, both in academics, and practical life skills. Our service team will be involved in a labour service project. In past trips, this included helping build a home, a water distribution centre, a washroom facility, and installing security bars for a school.

Detailed information on the project can be found by downloading the info sheet.
