Don & Betty are Back in Central Asia

Don & Betty are C&MA International Workers who have a passion for reaching displaced people groups in the Silk Road Region with the good news of Jesus Christ. Here is their latest Praise & Prayer Update:

Some amazing answers to prayer:

  • Returning to Asia, our first flight from London to Istanbul was 100 minutes late. That gave us only a few minutes to change planes. For the first time ever, our arrival gate and our departure gate were not only on the same wing of the airport, but they were also only 4 gates apart. We made our flight and our bags arrived the next day.

  • In God's perfect timing, we could stay in the apartment of our colleagues until they return on August 8. They had our car parked in their parking space so that we have a vehicle to drive as well.

  • We were able to find an apartment and got our keys within 48 hours after our arrival. As an added blessing, it comes with a piano and built in water softener as well as 3 air conditioning units.

  • The documents that are required were couriered to the Alliance office in Toronto last week and we should have them here by July 31. We will be able to move ahead with our paperwork here.

Some prayer items:

  • The submission of our residency documents. Pray that this goes smoothly.

  • October gathering. We are also hosting a gathering of all the workers we oversee in the Middle East and Central Asia. We expect close to 50 people and our desire is to develop community among our workers serving in 6 different countries.

  • Advancement of the Kingdom. As we return to the field, we are excited about what God is doing but we are also committed along with the Alliance Canada to double our reach by 2034. That means we are looking for more churches to partner in more places and to see new teams begin in dark and hard places where Christ is not known. Pray as we lead and look into opportunities to expand in this region.
