Newcomers Welcome Luncheon Recap

"...a beautiful sign that we were meant to be here"

Connect Cafe Ministry held its 5th Newcomers Welcome Luncheon post Covid on November 3, 2024. The fun-filled event was attended by 63 people in total, including (34) newcomers, pastors, elders and their spouses, members, staff and the Connect Cafe Team. As always, the personal "Connect Stories" touched the hearts of many who were in attendance. Here is a short excerpt from one of the many remarkable messages shared at the event: A Nigerian family who recently became members at FLC mentioned, "When we took our two boys to Kidz Church, they were greeted by the sound of children singing a Nigerian worship song titled "Yeshua Hamashiach" by Nathaniel Bassey. Was it a coincidence? We like to think it was a beautiful sign that we were meant to be here. The genuine interest and kindness of people at FLC made us feel right at home."

Once again, the common message running through all  the personal stories, was  the "sense of belonging and community." In addition, another newcomer shared that "FLC has kind and loving people," which resonated with all of our guests. The energizing games and sought after prizes, which were generously donated by local neighbourhood businesses like Starbucks,  A&W, White Spot, and Romer's Burger Bar, definitely added to the fun, engaging all of the participants. Based on the energy and enthusiasm in the room, we're confident that both newcomers & FLC members  enjoyed their wins, but more importantly, they appreciated the opportunity to make new friends!
