Jesus continues to tie our present lifestyle to his future return. In the passage Jesus gives a long parable about the talents or the bags of gold. A master gives money to some servants and asks them to invest it on his behalf. When the master returns the different servants present their investments.
Jesus is implying that God has given to you and me something to invest in the present. To some he has given a little, to others a lot. We all need to be concerned with what the Lord has entrusted to us.
