In November we will take three weeks to look at the person of Jesus through the lens of three titles. The Gospel of Mark uses narrative that draws us to examine Jesus closely. Often avoiding outright proclamations, Mark prefers to build up a composite picture of who Jesus is with stories that have layers of interlocking meaning. Throughout the gospel, Mark gives Jesus titles. Each of these titles provides an essential clue to who Jesus really is. In the modern era we don't have the background to appreciate what these titles really mean. All of them were part of the Old Testament revelation and are steeped in ancient meaning. Through studying these titles we will be led to the place of worship and adoration.
