Vancouver Urban Ministries (VUM)

The mission of Vancouver Urban Ministries is to enable underprivileged youth and families to reach their full potential by demonstrating and sharing the love of Christ. The main ministries that VUM runs during the school year is the Eagle Youth Music School with free music lessons and an after-school program with high quality one-on-one tutoring program. VUM also invites these families to attend gatherings, youth groups, life skill clubs, and holiday community dinners.

Esther was the founder and former Chair of VUM. She has been running the free after school music program Eagle Youth Music School since 2006. And in 2024 she began to teach a music class during school hours in an “Indigenous Focus School” in East Vancouver.
