"Learning to Lament"
Psalm 13:1-6

Our lives have bad things in them. We have many initial responses to the things that are wrong including determination, denial and despair. This is the spiritual desert that many have been through. In the lament Psalms we see that David chooses to confront God in the desert. He chooses the path of lament - openly acknowledging the pain in his life, asking God to come and meet him in it.

Passion
Martinique is not a popular tourist destination to North Americans, but more Europeans are attracted to this paradise emerging from the eastern Caribbean Sea.  Before their retirement some of our missionary friends connected us with the Chinese Alliance Church there and we started visiting and falling in love with Martinique before the pandemic.  This is our third visit and it will be an eight-week ministry period, caring for this fold of sheep that is without a resident shepherd.  

Thanksgiving
- The airline pilots’ potential job action was averted and there was no disruption to our itinerary.
- God is gracious - we have enjoyed relatively good health. He is enabling us to keep on travelling and serving Him overseas.

Prayer
- We need more prayers than ever as we endured such obvious spiritual warfare during our past visits.
- Pray that the lay leaders will be strengthened and encouraged after months of holding down the fort without a shepherd.
- We need love to round up the lost sheep who disappeared from church during the pandemic years.
- We will be in Martinique during the end of the hurricane season. We don’t want you to see us featured on a TV news broadcast about such an event.

Set Free Weekend focuses on learning how to deal with the hurts, hang-ups and struggles that we all face on a daily basis and come to a place of freedom inside our hearts from the past, through listening prayer, confession and learning about the power of the cross.

FunFest is a safe and fun alternative for children on Halloween Night. This is our annual carnival filled with games, prizes, and food for kids 12 and under. A spectacular evening that your children will be sure to enjoy!

Age: For children ages 3 to 12 (Children under the age of 3 must be accompanied by an adult)

When: Thursday, October 31, 2024

Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Where: Fraser Lands Church (3330 SE Marine Drive, Vancouver, V5S 3B1)

Cost: $5 per child (Ticket includes food voucher and access to games and prizes)

Connect Café is hosting a Newcomers Welcome Luncheon on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm at Fraser Lands Church in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). Lunch is free for newcomers.

Sunday Parking Reminder
On Sundays, the upper parking lot is reserved for first time visitors, parents with babies/toddlers (up to age 3), people who have limited mobility, handicap parking, and drop off/pick up.

Lost & Found
Please check the Lost & Found table in the front entrance foyer for any items you may have left behind. Any unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of after October 20th.

- 1 full time adult leader in T&T Jr
- 1 full time adult leader in T&T Sr
