Who Is This?
"Jesus is the Son of Man"
Mark 10:32-45

The title Son of Man is ambiguous and flexible. It might simply mean 'a male in the human race'; it might be more. Jesus uses it as his preferred title when referring to himself. Throughout the gospel of Mark, Jesus uses this title to speak about three aspect of his ministry: his ministry of forgiveness and healing; his suffering and death on the cross; his future return in glory. Jesus makes it clear that Daniel 7 is the key background to this title. This week we will learn about humility and service as a call for all those who follow the Son of Man.

Esther is the Outreach Ministries Manager at Culture Regeneration Research Society (CRRS). She trains young volunteer leaders to serve under-provided children in rural China and locally in Vancouver. She is also an educator on various topics that serve the local community. CRRS’ ministries are guided by love to foster mutual understanding through leadership, academic & publishing, multimedia outreach, caring for the marginalized through education assistance (student sponsorship), working with under-provided families and journeying with the Indigenous community.

CRRS became an official partner with local non-profit Vancouver Urban Ministries (VUM) in 2016 and sponsored First Nations students to attend their tutoring program. In 2020, Esther started a free summer camp for children from low-income families in East Vancouver.

A casual “bring your own lunch“ get together to gather and visit with Jackie Wong, Director of EDUPAVI Canada. Jackie is one of our Fraser Lands Missionaries doing work in Guatemala. Please bring your own lunch and join us to hear updates on Jackie's work with Edupavi and on how we can support the work they are doing. Please register so we know how many people will be coming.

Prayer Summits are the monthly opportunity to engage in prayer together as a church! Join us as we gather for worship, reflection, personal prayer time, and corporate prayer for important needs and issues.  

Let us come together to give thanks, pray for the world, our city, our church, and for each other.

Lunch will be available beforehand at 12:30pm in the Banquet Room for those staying for the Prayer Summit. Please click below to sign up for lunch. Deadline is Thursday Nov. 21st. If you would like to bring your own lunch, you are welcome to join us in the Banquet Room.

Come and experience our "Christmas Wonder" event. We'll be having photo stations set up around the different Christmas tree areas where our designated photographers will take Christmas family photos. In addition, we'll have other family friendly fun activities like a Christmas craft and ornament making area, snacks & refreshments at our Christmas Cafe, prize draws, and more. Registration is required. Registration deadline is Dec. 1, 2024 OR until spots are filled up, whichever comes first.

We can express the love of God in concrete and tangible ways. This year we are inviting small groups, families, and individuals to sponsor Christmas Hampers in support of two ministry areas.

FLC Staff Update
Rev. Joseph Chan will be starting his ministry at FLC as the English Congregation Pastor on January 16, 2025. We look forward to having Pastor Joe, his wife Monique, and their family join our church and to serve alongside our members.

Please pray for them as a family as they make this transition in the new year. Please also keep our staff team in your prayers as we all continue to serve with one another to equip and build up God’s Church for His glory! We are indeed thankful that the Lord has answered our prayers in this way!

Sunday Parking Reminder
