Join us for "An Evening in December"Friday, December 24, 2021 | 8pm Join us for a joy-filled evening of carol singing, sharing, reflection, and celebration as we anticipate Christmas. This year's theme is "And God Moved into the Neighbourhood". Our Christmas Eve service, "An Evening in December" (AEID) will be at 8pm on Friday December 24th. This program will be offered both in-person and live streamed. Please read below for the latest update about the need for a vaccine passport and other safety measures for this event. |
AEID Vaccine Passport Announcement (Updated Dec. 17)
As with every new COVID related decision we’ve made as a church we continue to look to our health authorities for guidance. As a result of even more recent changes to provincial rules, we will now be requiring vaccine passports and limiting attendance to 50% of capacity for our Dec. 24th event, An Evening in December (AEID). This event is our annual celebration of the birth of Christ where we sing carols and hear the Christmas story. Here is what we are now asking everyone to do. 1. For those planning to attend please pre-register online for contact tracing purposes. There will be a link on the AEID event page on the Fraser Lands website on Sunday Dec. 19 to sign up. 2. AEID will remain a first come first seat event. So even if you pre-register please do come early to guarantee yourself a seat. 3. We will be checking ID for everyone 18 and over. Vaccine passports are required for those who are 12 and over. 4. Doors to our sanctuary will open at 7pm and the evening will start at 8pm. 5. There is mandatory masking for everyone age 5 and older. We have had several questions regarding Omicron and canceling AEID. The staff continues to monitor the situation. As of Dec. 17th 5pm we are still planning on hosting AEID as a live in person event. Please check the website for the latest updates. We are planning to host AEID in a hybrid fashion, that is, with both an in-person and online option. Anyone who cannot attend in person, for any reason, is welcome to join us online. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to celebrating Christmas together at AEID on Dec. 24th at 8pm! |

Staffing Update
We would like to welcome and introduce Estefani Maique as our new Facilities Supervisor. Estefani grew up in Brazil in a Christian home and moved to Toronto in 2013. She worked in property management for the city of Toronto for 7 years. Responding to God’s call, she completed her Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology at C3 College and served at C3 Toronto Church for 4 years. It was always in her heart to live in Vancouver. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to join Fraser Lands Church and serve the house of God, combining her professional and education experiences. Este (for short) likes to cook vegan meals, read books, travel, ride her bike and snuggle her cats, Oscar and Carmen. |

Christmas Hampers for Lytton and MerrittFrom Packaging to Delivery - Plan A, Plan, B, and Plan G During the last three weeks we have been busy getting the Christmas Hampers ready for delivery. Our original estimate was to have 60 hampers for Lytton. With the flood in Merritt, we decided to expand our Christmas Hampers campaign to broaden our support. By the November 30 deadline, we have received a total of 235 hamper sponsors. To get the hampers ready we mobilized five teams: Purchasing Team, Packaging Team, Decorating Team, Christmas Cards Team, and Delivery Team. We received participation and support from other Metro Vancouver churches and strangers when they heard about our initiative. In addition, we were able to connect with Lytton First Nation Emergency Operations Centre to provide hampers for the Lytton evacuees staying in Camp Hope and Kamloops... (Continued at the link below. Read more & view photos of how God was at work in providing a means to deliver the Christmas Hampers.) For more infomation visit:
